Pleasure Beach, 2009-2010
Pleasure Beach was a small beach front community on Long Island Sound that became a ghost town after the only bridge connecting it to the mainland burned down in 1996. This project explores the remains of this once prosperous summer getaway neighborhood, and the idea of nature reclaiming cultivated lands. The structures in this series have since been torn down and the land turned into a wildlife sanctuary. It is the longest stretch of undeveloped shoreline in Connecticut.
